Having signed a Global Framework Agreement (GFA) in June 2015, Société Générale and UNI Finance had committed to monitor its implementation on a yearly basis. A committee composed by representatives of HR management and a UNI trade union delegation has been set up for this purpose and met for the first time in September 2016 in Paris.
Both sides presented their efforts in disseminating the GFA so that local management and employees in all countries of operation are informed about the agreement and what it means for them. The agreement specifically focuses on respecting human rights and the rights of employees to organise and bargain collectively. The committee identified some areas of possible improvement and further cooperation. Both sides agreed to explore possibilities of working closer together in the frame of the company’s training initiatives. The committee further discussed about the importance of equal opportunities ad diversity in the company. This first exchange was a positive and promising encounter between social partners in Société Générale and UNI Finance will, together with affiliates worldwide, continue the monitoring exercise.
