AXA Group Trade Union Alliance denounces dismissals and austerity plan inflicted on AXA Belgium workers

Friday 16 December 2016

In Brussels, as across all of Belgium today, AXA Belgium workers have rallied to defend their jobs and their working conditions.

At the same time, the AXA Trade Union Alliance has been set up under the auspices of UNI Europa Finance.

The Trade Union Alliance, which encompasses the vast majority of trade union organisations present in the Group, expresses its deep solidarity and full support to all Belgian workers in defense of theirs jobs (NO TO MASS DISMISSALS!), rights and social achievements.

The Trade Union Alliance shares the concerns put forward by the workers in Belgium today. Globalisation and digitalisation mean that what is happening here today can occur elsewhere tomorrow.

The Alliance therefore calls upon the Group management and its Belgian subsidiary to demonstrate their will to maintain the social dialogue living up to the corporate image they like to display in Belgium and everywhere else. Tomorrow’s meeting should bring evidence of this commitment.

The world is changing, and so should AXA. The Alliance knows that.

However the employees cannot accept to become a mere adjustment variable.

The Alliance supports them fully.
