Spearheaded by the organization ShareAction and in close cooperation with the ERIN network that comprises about 45 European organisations working on the sustainable finance agenda, a letter has been sent on 19 November to the Council of the EU. The letter calls for Member States to quickly come to a position on the ‘Regulation on disclosures relating to sustainable investments and sustainability risks’ proposal, in order to allow trialogue negotiations to begin as soon as possible. Equally important however is the need for the Council position to be supportive of the progressive elements featured in the Parliament’s Report, including a focus on the ‘do no harm’ principle and the need for better integration of reporting on financial and non-financial information in annual financial statements. Due to the importance of this issue, UNI Europa Finance decided to also lend its name to this call for action. Please see full letter below.
