Communications workshop

Together with the FES Trade Union Competence Centre, we are proposing three thematic workshops in autumn 2021. This is the first in the series. It is aimed at communications officers of UNI Europa affiliates (especially those with responsibility for social media accounts) as well as organisers in the field, union leaders and officers with responsibility for collective bargaining. The full programme is below.

In the first part of the session we’ll hear from Aida Ponce Del Castillo of ETUI, who is among the most prominent trade union experts on data rights. Aida will be clarifying a number of recurring questions unions have about GDPR.

In the second part, we will be hearing from Chris Webb, Head of Communications at The Communication Workers Union will be joining us tomorrow to talk about just that and delve into their historic campaign at Royal Mail. Here’s a video that they dropped days before a resounding 91.5% yes vote for strike action last year which transformed Royal Mail.
