Today is World Day for Decent Work. Service workers’ unions from across the world are uniting to demand essential rights for essential workers. UNI Europa marked the launch of this campaign with a joint video message.
“Many employers have been allowed to cut corners and unleash a race to the bottom on these workers’ conditions and undermine these workers’ collective bargaining rights. As a result, their work is persistently under-valued. It’s time to fix that.
As working people get the economy back on its feet, recovery plans must ensure workers are safe and that they have a strong collective voice to bring about a new normal in which they get a fair share of the wealth they create.”
