UNI Europa staff is on strike on Wednesday 13 February as called by our affiliated Belgian trade unions. The strike is called in protest of the capped wage increase at 0.8% for the year.
The unions (CSC; FGTB; CGSLB) in return have called for a 1.5% increase to be the norm, adding that 0.8% did not correspond to workers’ aspirations.
In addition to decent wages and substantial wage increases, unions are calling for:
- A 10% raise of the minimum wage
- Secure jobs and better work-life balance
- Decent pensions
- Strengthening social security and public services.
All of UNI Europa’s operational activities in Belgium, except in support of the strike, will be suspended on 13 February. The strike is supported to increase pressure on employers and the Belgian government.< Previous postNext post >
