Projects POSTSKILLS: Skills and Work Environment in the Digital Postal Transition

This project will assess current and future required skills to build a training catalogue or repository, targeted at postal operators, postal workers and trade unions.

The project aims to enable postal social partners to deepen their knowledge of the evolution of professional profiles and related skills.

This will assist the social partners to:

  • identify future skills needs for the occupational profiles under study in the next 10 years;
  • to give details on the skills that will be at the core of the adaptation of postal employment;
  • to further understanding of possible measures in terms of training pathways, to accompany the change;
  • to develop a better understanding of how specific skills and competences could mitigate or improve occupational health and safety risks;
  • to assess how far these are covered by the current training offers, to identify the most suitable training solutions to improve the capacity of postal operators in addressing such risks;
  • to build a training catalogue or repository, targeted at postal operators, postal workers and trade unions which, based on the real experiences of the social partners, can be designed to cover skills needs helping in the structuring and discussion when implementing training programmes;
  • to deepen the analysis of the effects of digitalisation and other relevant trends on how professional profiles and skills evolve in the medium term (10 years) and identify new potential skill areas which will become relevant in the medium term, which were outside the scope of the previous study.
