Projects LAST MILE – Strengthening worker’s representation in last-mile delivery

This project will strenghten coordination efforts in specific Multinational Companies (MNCs), deriving added value in terms of worker representation. It will focus on established Trade Union Alliancesfor last-mile delivery by enabling trade unions to shed light on the sector’s working conditions and employment terms.

The project’s overall goal is achieving better representation of logistics workers on the employment structures of last-mile delivery and on the impact of digitalisation.

We also aim to:

  • enlarge and strengthen workers’ representation in logistics through the coordinated cooperation of more trade unions by addressing new topics,
  • influence policies and legislation regulating logistics services and to improve the situation of logistics workers,
  • raise the profile of UNI Europa Post & Logistics at the European level within MNCs, by improving its role as coordinator of alliances and EWCs and by extending its role within European social dialogue by representing logistics workers.

The project will address these aspects in a capacity-building framework to strengthen worker engagement and worker representation in the logistics industry whilst also enabling trade unions to improve their understanding of the economic trends and transformations in the sector.
