Projects DIGITALUP – Development of digital skills to support capacity building of Central and Eastern European trade unions

This cross-sectoral project aims to build the digital communication skills of unions and employee representatives.

Unionists in central and Eastern Europe need to be well equipped with knowledge and skills to address multiple crises and challenges employees have been facing, such as covid-19 pandemic, very high inflation rate, direct and indirect effects of the war in Ukraine, climate change or the rise of fake news.

There have also been crucial developments in the world of work, i.e. digitalisation or very fast introduction of artificial intelligence. The best way how to address these multiple challenges is to focus on building digital communication skills of unions and employee representatives.

This project will:

  • support the use of innovative, efficient and creative ways of communication and consultation of employees;
  • help unions to reach out to more employees than through traditional channels as well as to employees that are hard to reach out to (e.g. working remotely, in small isolated workplaces).

We will do this by:

  • identifying training needs of employee representatives and employees in particular sectors and countries;
  • organising trainings on digital and other related skills for employee representatives.
