Sustainable work for a sustainable world

Sustainable work for a sustainable world

Commerce union representatives from across Europe gathered in Budapest, Hungary, on 27 May to address the challenges and explor the opportunities related to working time in the sector.

The workshop is part of a series of events organised in the framework of the EU co-funded project FATIMA: fair working time matters.

Focusing on four sectors – Property Services, Care, Commerce and ICT & related services – this workstream will help the unions identify both underlying risks for workers and good practice examples of working time models and eventually promote fair and sustainable working time arrangements in service industries.

Participants explored the project’s latest research findings, which analysed current working time models in service sectors, highlighting emerging trends, potential risks and avenues for union-led improvements.

Through a dynamic and participatory format, attendees collaborated to begin developing policy recommendations tailored to the commerce context. The workshop prioritised peer learning, practical exchange and cross-country dialogue to foster mutual understanding and share best practices.
