Commerce union representatives from across Europe convened in Budapest (Hungary), Paris (France), Madrid (Spain) and Stockolm (Sweden) for in-person workshops focused on the challenges bought by the increasing use of AI in workplaces. The workshops were organised jointly with UNI affiliates KASZ, CFDT, CCOO, Handels and UNIONEN.
The events were held within the framework of the “Monitoring and Managing the use of AI in the retail sector” (MMAI), a project that aims to support unions across Europe in securing good working conditions by negotiating the use of algorithms.
The workshops brought together affiliates who engaged in in-depth discussions on how to address the AI challenges in the context of collective bargaining and social dialogue. Participants also received practical guidance and training to encourage, guide and address risks and opportunities of the introduction and use of AI.
