Projects Social Dialogue enhancing the green transition in the European audiovisual sector

Steering the way towards a sustainable European audiovisual sector

This project aims to foster a cultural shift towards sustainability in the sector by enhancing the cooperation among European and national social partner organisations.

It addresses the fragmented nature of existing green transition initiatives and aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the impact of green transitions on work organisation and production processes.

The project builds on previous work of European social partners of the audiovisual sector, which identified good practices in green production for film and TV.

Through this project we will:

  • seek to provide comprehensive and updated resources;
  • assess the impact of green transition goals on audiovisual production;
  • develop strategies that support sustainable development, career growth and quality jobs.

To achieve these aims, we will pursue four specific objectives:

  • assess the impact of transition objectives as defined in Communications “A Strong Social Europe for Just Transitions” and “The European Green Deal”;
  • explore new skills and occupations by identifying, sharing and promoting skills development for new occupations that can foster sustainable employment and production;
  • enhance cooperation among social partners through capacity building workshops and by developing tools that enhance cooperation, promote social dialogue, and support collective bargaining on green transition issues;
  • initiate a dialogue with EU institutions through the organisation of a conference to discuss the priorities of EU-level action in support of the green transition of the sector.
