The road to fairer working time models

ICTS union representatives from across Europe convened in Leuven, Belgium, for an in-person workshop focused on working time challenges and opportunities in the ICTS sector.

The event was held within the framework of the EU-funded FATIMA Project (Fair Working Time Matters), a cross-sectoral initiative aimed at fostering fair and sustainable working time models in services sectors.

The workshop brought together ICTS affiliates from a wide range of European regions, with strong representation from Central and Eastern Europe. Participants engaged in an in-depth discussion on the sector-specific findings of FATIMA’s recent research. The research explored current working time models in services sectors, identifying trends, risks, and potential pathways for union-driven reform.

In a highly interactive format, attendees collaborated to begin shaping policy recommendations tailored to the ICTS sector. The workshop emphasised peer learning, practical dialogue, and the exchange of experiences across countries and organisational contexts.

The next step will be the planning of the final project conference, scheduled for autumn 2025, which will bring together participants from all sectors involved in the project.
