UNI Europa increasing trade union influence in Sofidel, Lucart and Tronchetti

A UNI Europa Graphical and Packaging transnational trade union coordination meeting concerning three Italian based tissue multinational companies: Sofidel, Lucart and Tronchetti, took place in Florence on 12-13 February 2018. In total, twenty colleagues from Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Poland and UK attended this meeting.

At the end of the meeting the participants adopted an ambitious action plan aiming:

1. To increase the pressure on Sofidel that continues to refuse to set-up a EWC under decent conditions
2. To launch the procedure to establish a EWC in Tronchetti
3. To strengthen the trade union presence and coordination in the existing EWC of Lucart.

The action plan will be implemented this year, of which the main part will be targeted at Sofidel. An awareness campaign involving the European institutions , as well as coordinated actions at company level, will also take place in the near future
