UNI Europa response to the European Commission consultation on AI ethics guidelines

UNI Europa response to the European Commission consultation on AI ethics guidelines

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on draft ethics guidelines for trustworthy artificial intelligence. This has been drafted by the High-level Expert Group on AI the Commission has set up earlier in 2018.

UNI Europa acknowledges the innovative potential of AI and new technologies that can be beneficial for our society. However, these new technologies also create challenges and we are concerned about the possible risks and consequences relating to working conditions, skills and training, ethics, equality, health and safety (among others). Therefore, UNI Europa underlines the importance of addressing AI technologies and robotisation in collective bargaining agreements across all levels and sectors.

UNI Europa has drafted a position on this consultation which you can read in full below. Please note that we also support the ETUC’s position on the consultation.
